Friday 16th October New EMI Nursing Wing
Avalon Nursing Home in its 41st year is opening a new dedicated EMI Nursing wing to provide specialist care for residents who require Nursing and who may have Dementia, Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. This dedicated wing has 12 large luxury rooms with en-suite wet rooms, a lounge, conservatory and a large garden, providing a vast experienced EMI team onsite at all times.
Mrs Miles was the matron of Avalon Nursing home for thirty nine years and employed very hands on, caring philosophy to the home. Lynn Tobin worked under Mrs Miles for fourteen years and took over when Mrs Miles retired in 2007 and has continued to maintain the high nursing standards insisted upon by Mrs Miles.
Lynn leads a highly qualified staff to ensure that the benefits of the residents are always at the core of the company. The new wing has its own specialist Activity Co-ordinator who will co-ordinate in house activities and hobbies, following seasonal events, celebrations, reminiscence therapy, singing and music. The home has a team of nurses (RGNs and RMNs) on hand to provide expert care for its patients.
The beautiful new wing was designed by Chris Keet of CKA Architectural a well known architect in Eastbourne and built to the highest of specification by Bishop & Levett.
